Today we bring you coverage for the “Inside Out And Vice Versa” Group show at the London West Bank gallery an exhibition exploring inside and outside cultures.

We’d like to welcome our friends Renton who will bring you his review of the show and Laura Moreno for the pictures.

When Masai (Louis Michel) got in touch with me few weeks ago about the exhibition I’ve thought it will be a great show: the West Bank Gallery is a very nice exhibition space and the artists involved, like Rick Dep Walker, Data, InkFetish and Belin, are some of my favourites, so I was more than glad to take part to the preview and write this review.

As for the other times the exhibition starts outside with few live paintings: very nice graffiti and art, in particular I’ve really liked Dep’s artwork, that you can see below.

After been outside for a while taking pictures and enjoying the artworks taking shape (something I really like), I’ve finally went inside to see the main part of the show.

Inside the pleasant surprise: if from one side in fact I could imagine how the show could be, from the other side I really couldn’t expect such a good mix of different styles and techniques.

Starting from some nice Manga by InkFetish and passing by the great “Can Sculptures” by Monstieur and Lucy Sparrow’s felt art, I’ve explored the gallery really delighted by the high quality of all the artworks. Of course I’m not saying I’ve liked all the artworks, however I’ve to admit that the average quality and the skills level of all the artists were really high, so on the end I’ve appreciated most of the canvases and sculptures.

Another nice surprise has been the “hidden room”: a space downstairs we couldn’t discover until Louis showed us the entrance and in which we’ve found other great artworks.

In general what I’ve appreciated most has been the variety of styles and techniques, but if I’ve to choose my favourite pieces I will say Masai’s and Vera Edwards’ canvases (in the secret room), Data and Dep artworks, the “Subdued Head” by Jim McElvaney and definitively Monstieur’s Carling Fairy.

If you are in London I suggest you to go and enjoy this great show which runs until August 25th.
