Last night in San Francisco,  Jasmin Siddiqui and Falk Lehmann aka Herakut opened their new solo show “Loving The Exiled” at 941 Geary.

Only two months after the opening of “After The Laughter” (covered), the German duo is back in California with this new body of work which deals this time with figures that have been thrust away from society, charged with guilt in some way, and used as scapegoats in an effort to simplify complex problems.
Herakut wanted to bring characters that have fallen from grace. They took a look at the banned and exiled, the abandoned child that first cries of fear and then of rage, flocks of scapegoats, a choir of arch enemies, the outlawed, the out-numbered, the ones that know they are very last of their kind, the extinguished..
One of our favorite piece from this show “The Monkey On My Back Was The Best Thing About Me”, strongly reminds us of the Norwegian mural they painted last year for the Nuart Festival (covered)

If you stop by San Francisco, make sure to go check it out in person, “Loving The Exiled” will only run until May 29, 2012 at 941 Geary St.

More pictures after the jump…
