Mike Hewson New Murals In Christchurch, New Zealand

On February 22, 2011, the Christchurch Cathedral in New-Zealand was partly destroyed due to a magnitude 6.3 earthquake.
Michael Hewson recently completed a series of pieces on the former Christchurch Normal School which opened in 1876.
This brilliant project is now covering a total area of 120 to 130 square meters, the mixed media images on plywood transformed the abandoned building into something that is full of live and vibrancy.

"I intended this work to project the same spirit of life back into Cranmer Courts, to help people remember, before it is gone, that this building, too, was once full of community, fun and family." --Hewson

  1. Why choose such ugly images?

    Or is it photoshopped?
