Our friend Fintan Magee just completed this new mural in an abandoned Skate rink in Brisbane, Australia. This wall depicts a local developer who is rumoured to have set fire to the building, the site was heritage listed and it is said that he hoped it could be legally demolished if it was badly burned. The fire didn't do enough damage to the building and it has stood burnt and empty for years.
The story is a reflection on Brisbane as whole which has a long history of corrupt governments and developers knocking down historic buildings to make way for larger developments.
Brisbane needs more political art like this to educate, stimulate and shake us out of our mindless complacency!
