Lonac spent the last few days working on this new piece somewhere on the streets of Koprivnica, a city in Northern Croatia, for their local street art festival.
The prolific Croatian artist had the opportunity to bring his hyper-realistic technique to the locals with this mural showing a goldfish jumping out of his aquarium into a wine glass. The image is his nod to a familiar saying/belief Jer utjehe nema u vodi (Because there is no comfort in the water), which is often an excuse for excessive alcohol consumption. In order to accent it’s dark message, the artist painted the front of the local chess club with rough grey roller strokes juxtaposing it with clean lines, smooth gradients and hyper-realistic image.
More images of this piece that can be seen on Ante Starcevica 15 in Koprivnica are awaiting for your click after the break and then drop your two cents down in the comments section.
