Last night at Allouche Gallery in Soho NYC the street art powerhouse that is Faile hosted an opening to celebrate wood as a medium, a new print release, and a book launch.  Hundreds of people braved the freezing NYC weather to line up at 3pm for the chance to be the first to own the new print “The Right One, Happens Everyday” and/or Faile’s new book Works on Wood: Process, Painting and Sculpture“.

Faile once again use their trademark collage style to create large mixed media pieces featuring most of their classic imagery wrapped or painted on wood pieces.  As a twist on their usual style Faile incorperated vintage car/racing t-shirts in to the mix.

The classic shirts add an interesting contrast in mediums which in person triggered all kind of nostalgia being a child of the 1980’s ; )

The opening party drew a huge crowd including street art legend Ron English, and current bad asses like Buff Monster, Olek, GILF!, Adam Dare, and OCMC… just to name a few…

Associated with the opening Faile have created two new prints.  As always Faile have held back a nice portion of the first print to be sold on their web site, and the second print will be an online only exclusive.  I picked up a print and a book for myself and I promise that they look amazing and are worth every penny.  The book at $65.00 for a signed studio edition is an incredible bargain ($1200.00 custom wood cover editions were available as well):
