Castor Gallery is proud to host Paper Monster’s first expansive exhibition that celebrates the body of work created with their favorite artists over the last seven years in New York City. Please join us on Friday December 12, 2014 for The Paper Monster Show, featuring originals and works on paper by artists such as FAILE, BAST, Judith Supine, Swoon and more. The Paper Monster Show will kick off on Friday from 6-9pm, with prints available on a first come, first serve basis. A new edition by BAST will also debut and be available at the exhibition.

The Paper Monster Show will take over Castor Gallery, offering up new and rare prints for the avid collector at this not-to-miss event. The exhibition will include AP prints of long sold-out print runs, unreleased prints, unique variants, originals and editions on paper by FAILE, BAST, Judith Supine, Swoon, John Tsombikos (BORF), Brian Adam Douglas (Elbow-Toe), Taylor McKimens, Anthony Lister, Anthony Sneed, Cash for Your Warhol, COST, Joe Grillo, Ludo, Kozyndan, MOMO, Rostarr, Sam3, Swampy and Tomokazu Matsuyama. Paper Monster’s extensive collaborations with artists will fill the two floor gallery space for this exciting exhibition.

The Paper Monster Show will continue until January 4, 2015, with regular hours of Wednesday to Sunday, 12 to 8pm.

Paper Monster was created in 2007 by Patrick Miller and Patrick McNeil of FAILE to produce new printed works by their artist friends and contemporaries. PaperMonster has become a platform for artists to create unique and editioned works of art using an array of printmaking techniques. Artists from all disciplines are encouraged to explore their mediums with a hands on approach to printmaking. Over two dozen artists have released new artworks on the website – from hand-painted prints and etchings to lithographs and originals.

A lucky few who get to Castor Gallery early will have a chance to scoop up the newest BAST print (I believe it’s an edition of 6 and costs $1200).  These days BAST rarely releases prints… especially in such a ridiculously small edition.

Additionally, I can not say enough good things about the latest Swoon print “Dawn & Gemma”.  I actually received mine this morning which I bought literally the minute it went on sale (I have no idea how it’s not sold out yet) and it’s absolutely beautiful in person.  Each print was hand stained making them all actually one of a kinds, and at the price of $325.00 (signed edition of 300) they are a steal.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Other prints (in very limited quantities and some at reduced prices) include artists such as Swampy, Cash For Your Warhol, Cost, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Judith Supine, & Brian Adam Douglas… to name but a few…

If that was not enough the good people at Paper Monster have raided their flat files and are releasing in even more limited quantities AP editions of some of their best prints, including works by Faile themselves!

See you tomorrow night and good-luck to the few that get the chance to scoop up these rare gems:
