Celebrating decade and half of promoting street art, changing and influencing Stavanger, Norway and beyond through murals, installations and interventions, this year’s Nuart festival will take place on the first weekend of September, 2015. Often ranked as “the world’s leading celebration of street art” this pioneer event will be packed with exhibitions, symposium, education programmes, debates, artist presentations, film screenings and lots of public art creation.

Introducing Nuart 15

For their big anniversary edition, the organizers put together an impressive lineup of artist that cover the diversity of styles and visual languages under the umbrella of street art. Starting with graffiti legend Futura from NYC and legendary graffiti and street life photographer Martha Cooper, Portuguese sculptor Bordallo II, Spanish sensation Pejac, Scandinavian street art legends DotDotDot, Dolk and Martin Whatson, French dynamic duo Ella&Pitr, Lithuanian/Malaysian star Ernest Zacharevic, but also Bortusk Leer (UK), Harmen de Hoop (NL), Icy & Sot (IL), Isaac Cordal (ES), Jamie Reid (UK), Outings Project (FR) and Pixelpancho (IT).
With the focus of this year’s festival being “situationism”, which initially inspired punk and more latterly the street art and activist movements we see today, this edition of Nuart is looking to establish where the culture of street art comes from and where it could potentially go.
