NEVERCREW - Ablating machine - Wynwood Miami 2015 - 01

NEVERCREW recently spent some time in Wynwood, Miami during Art Basel Miami for the collaborative project curated by Urban Nation and PangeaSeed Foundation, addressing the issue of climate change in conjunction with the COP21 Paris Climate Conference.

The artwork is about human aggressive attitude towards natural resources for economical purposes. This is intended in a double way as mere privatization and as the presumption of ownership towards lands, the environment and creatures’ life, with all the direct and indirect consequences.

With a marked connection with the place and its structure, the image ambiguously wants to involve the viewer on many levels, evoking the feeling of a balance that’s easily forgotten, of irresponsible prevarication, of a damage that’s well known but consciously not considered.
